Safe Place® is a national youth outreach and prevention program for young people in need of immediate help and safety. As a community-based program, Safe Place designates businesses and organizations as Safe Place locations, making help readily available to youth in communities across the country.
Launched in 2013, the primary goal of Fostering Panther Pride (FPP) is to assist former foster care youth and homeless students in their transition to Florida International University (FIU), their retention and graduation, and their pursuit of securing employment or graduate studies upon receiving their bachelor’s degree.
Lighthouse Youth Services is dedicated to advancing the dignity and well-being of children, youth and families in need. The agency is a nationally recognized innovator in services for families in crisis, foster care and adoption, mothers and babies, homeless youth and young adults, delinquent youth, and youth learning to become self-sufficient.
We offer housing, mental health and case management, and community-based and drop-in support services to Transition Age Youth.
We believe it is essential for young people impacted by foster care and homelessness to play a leadership role in bringing about positive change. We offer programs that engage and train youth and young adult participants throughout the year in a menu of activities designed to promote confidence, create positive relationships, build skills, and provide practical leadership and advocacy experience.
The Bridge of Faith (BOF) strives to change the generational cycle and status-quo that exists for girls who were victims of inadequate parenting and the results of the foster care experience. Each year we provide 5,196 safe nights for girls who have aged-out. We do not have an age or time limit.
The National Resource Center for Youth Services at the University of Oklahoma has been providing employee and program development resources to the youth services community for more than thirty years. We specialize in resources related to Trauma Responsiveness, Positive Youth Development, Cultural Responsiveness, Collaboration/Partnership, and Youth Permanence.
YNHS is a Community Health Services, providing medical, dental, behavioral health services, housing and homeless services. Targeted services for youth includes “The Space”, our LGBTQ Youth Resource Center , and the BESTY House, a residential transitional housing program for women age 18-23 interested in work experiences and/or continuing education.
SaySo is a statewide youth led advocacy association of youth ages 14-24 who are or have been in out of home placement. The mission of SaySo is to work to improve the substitute care system by educating the community, speaking out about needed changes and providing support to youth that are or have been in substitute care.
Great Expectations is a nationally recognized program that helps Virginia’s foster youth earn the postsecondary credentials they need to achieve an independent and successful life. Great Expectations is currently available at 18 of Virginia’s Community Colleges.
