A Sense of Home

A Sense of Home (ASOH) creates first-ever homes for former foster youth who “age out” of the foster care system having never been adopted. ASOH’s village of volunteers comes in and supplies everything to create a home. Recipients pay it forward, working alongside a community of volunteers. ASOH began in Los Angeles and ready to replicate in other regions.

Hillsides – Youth Moving On

Located in Pasadena, Youth Moving On provides youth who were formerly in foster care and probation affordable quality housing and numerous support services to help them transition successfully to adulthood. The program also supports a Culinary Apprenticeship Program to help youth gain the knowledge and skills needed to obtain employment in the culinary field.

Just in Time for Foster Youth

Each year, Just in Time for Foster Youth mobilizes a caring community to help over 850 transition age youth (18-26) with resources and relationships to become capable, confident and connected. We meet emergency needs, fill gaps in knowledge and experience, enhance job skills, and build confidence, resilience and well-being through connections to over 600 volunteers and former foster youth staff.

Journey House

Journey House provides services exclusively to former foster youth in; Housing, Education, Employment, and Independent Living Counseling. Journey House is not a residential program, however, most youth continue as program participants because of the support and guidance that they receive as they transition out of foster care and beyond.

When young adults age out of foster care, they lose all resources and support they had, leaving them to fend for themselves. Many lack the support, skills, and knowledge needed to transition into adulthood safely and successfully. David & Margaret is one of the leading regional providers of services and programs for young adults transitioning out of foster care and into independent living.
