Hand2Paw’s mission is to provide a safe and supportive work environment for youth, ages 16-24, who are experiencing housing insecurity or foster care involvement, as a means of enhancing resilience, compassion, and connection with people, animals and the community of Philadelphia.
The Lighthouse is a Christ-focused nonprofit organization in Riga, Latvia. We work with young adults aged out of the orphan care system or from difficult family backgrounds. Our goal is to mentor and lead them toward healthy adulthood. We do this by building mentoring relationships and teaching practical life skills.
RMYA’s TurningPoint program opened in 1999 to serve youth aging out of foster care in a residential setting. Former and extended foster youth (18-24 years) live in 6 houses and receive life and job skills, counseling, and assistance with education, health & social service resources, and referrals.
They leverage public and private partnerships to provide young adults with life skills and employment readiness training, housing, and access to resources. Their goal is to open a long-term, supportive housing program that will teach life skills, employment readiness, and provide access to resources to help young adults that have exited foster care to become and remain successfully interdependent!
