The MyPlace programs prevent youth homelessness while helping young people to achieve their educational and employment goals. By working with case managers to build self-reliance and independence, we keep our young participants in safe and secure housing and help them develop into responsible members of the community.
The Independent Living Unit provides services to youth, aged 16 and over, to help prepare them for independence following their emancipation from the child welfare system. Any youth, up to age 21, who has ever been in foster care, for any amount of time after their 14 birthday, is eligible to participate in these services.
We believe that too many of our students have been removed from their homes and placed in institutional settings to address their educational and social and emotional challenges. C.B. Community Schools is a successful model for prevention and diversion from institutional placement. We provide our students with the resources and skills to be successful in their communities.

Project Hope strives to match current and former foster youth, as well as, other at-risk youth from the community, ages 13-21, with a positive, caring adult in the community to coach them in daily living activities, be a listening ear, introduce them to new opportunities, empower them to make responsible decisions, and spend time pursuing activities of shared interest.
